![]() ![]() IJN cruisers - Strengths: long range fire starters and excellent torps (very autonomous/lone wolf types) Weaknesses: poor turning radius, slow gun rotation, long gun reload time, and weak armor means IJN cruisers are quite poor at close/close-medium range. Weaknesses: relatively weak and short range main battery means the USN cruisers are almost helpless facing superior ships in open water and must run for cover ASAP USN cruisers - Strengths: fantastic AA and radar/sonar (perfect escorts/support ships and DD hunters). ![]() To further make my point about outstanding strengths/weaknesses giving specific roles to cruisers, which also makes them more fun to play. Ships need a role to play (at least to some extent) and the Prinz Eugen doesn't have one. What mods or capt skills best suit it? What playing style? Who knows because you can't effectively or deliberately specialize mediocrity. With the Prinz Eugen, that's not really the case. what modules to equip, what capt skills to select, and what "tactics" to use to get the best out of your ship in each battle. Most ships in WOWS have distinct strengths and distinct weaknesses (often these same strengths/weaknesses exist throughout the whole line) and a lot of the fun of WOWS is finding out how to adapt to make the most of these different strengths/weaknesses. ATM, the Prinz Eugen has no outstanding characteristics and imo, that's what's missing most (this directly negatively impacts its efficacy and how fun it is to play). The Prinz Eugen is well rounded but that's NOT a good thing when all the characteristics are pretty. My complaint, and why I started this thread, is that the Prinz Eugen is lacking a unique strength or characteristic which unfortunately makes it both very difficult to consistently inflict a respectable amount of damage (regardless of how well you play) and, worse, makes playing such a revered ship fairly dull and unrewarding to play. Here's my cooler head view of the Prinz Eugen and what changes should be made, what changes shouldn't be made, and why. ![]()
